Europe and Pushups!

Hello fellow YFS’rs! I’m back from vacation and let me tell you it was amazing!  I’m typically a beach, island, hot weather, tons of sun type of person.  But, this year we decided to vacation a bit differently.

My wife, since I’ve known her, has wanted to visit Paris.  Well, we decided to do a bit more than Paris.

We’ve visited the following locations:

Philadelphia
Rome
Florence
Venice
Paris
Amsterdam
Belgium

I thankful that I was able to accompany her on her dream of visiting Paris and beyond.  Each location, was very unique and I learned a lot about myself, my wife and more importantly their culture and intricacies.

In the next few weeks my blogging will reflect what I learned in Europe…

Au revoir! Until the next blog post!

Oh.. before I forget.  We are up to week 3 (video 3) of the 100 pushup challenge!

Here is my 3rd video!

  1. Man… Now I feel pretty lame giving up after about 15-20 push-ups.

  2. That's a pretty hectic schedule for two weeks, YFS.
I must say, your video prompted me to take the challenge. I regularly do 40-pushup sets, so no problem, one hundred seems within range. Not so, not so. I wussed out in the mid-sixties, and my right arm and chest are still cramping up and sore. Gotta work it up slowly, I guess.

  3. Not even sure where to start with this comment!!

First, this sounds like an incredible itinerary…

Second, 100 pushup Challenge: DaaaaAAAaaaamn! You’ve just inspired me to get me arse back in gear. :)

Woot.. I\’m glad my post inspired you to work it out! Take it slow in the beginning don\’t hurt yourself.

Sounds like you are having fun and I really appreciate you that you supported your wife to her dream and you did it more than that. By the way, I enjoy watching you in the video doing push ups. It’s incredible. Thanks!

Thank you! When married or in a relationship, I learned that it\’s not always about me. I felt better seeing her smile than being selfish and insisting we go on a tropical vacation. Thanks for the confidence boost for my next pushup video :-)

  5. Woe! That must have been such a gorgeous experience! I’ve been in Amsterdam for a month a couple of years ago and I had such a great time! I’m looking forward to your post about your big journey, I’m sure you are full of great experiences!

    • URFinanceSimple says:

I had a great time! Some I can talk about and some I can\’t lol. I have a few blog posts coming in the future talking about them.

  6. I’m going to go eat a doughnut and watch your video.

Wasn’t Paris awesome? We had a great experience there….much different than I’d been told we’d have. People were far more pleasant than I expected them to be…which taught me something about how to act and who I am as a person.

    • Paris was quite different than what people specified it would be. People would say that the people were rude.. I didn’t find that to be true at all.. the people were nice! The food on the other hand was a bit dicey.. until we found some not touristy areas.

  7. I think a friend of mine is trying to get me to join the 200 Squat Challenge. Barely a year ago, I pushed myself to do 300 squats. It's weird, but my back hurt more than my buns. I couldn't even walk, I shuffled. I'll pass on the 100 push up challenge. I'm a girl. I can do 100 push ups over the course of a work out, but there's no need to hammer out 100 of them suckers in a row. I probably can squeeeeze out 25 without stopping if I really tried.

    • 300 squats! Woah.. Impressive! What did you do to train up for that.

      • I just exercise. My regular workouts include a lot of squats so my muscles didn’t fail me when I went for 300. By the way, they weren’t consecutive. I felt like it was more of a mental challenge than a physical one. But I get a lot of my workouts from BodyRock.tv. The site is pretty amazing.

        • URFinanceSimple says:

I agree with you.. the workouts are definitely mental. When I lost count for my pushups, I thought I was at 85 for some reason, so I keep pushing and pushing until I collapsed. I don\’t think I would have completed 94 pushups if I kept count. Mind over matter I guess..

  8. Sounds boring. :)

I can take you on the 100. Did you see my Insanity body?

    • I'm going to check out your blog for the insanity progress. Last time I checked you looked ripped and suddenly got a tan!
